Not Exactly. there is certainly instances of places of where this (rich getting richer, poor porer) has happned. But on average this isnt true, in fact if you analyse the data the opposite is true the gulf between the 'rich' countries and the 'poor' countries have reduced over the years. yet somehow the idea of 'rich getting richer, poor getting poorer' has been drilled in. in terms of important indicators of human well-being, infant mortatility, life expectancy, hunger - thew world is much more equal now than what it was a few decades a go.. As for 'diverting power from needy to greedy'.. well i find the proposition a bit confusing, if they already had power, why were they 'needy' in the first place ? Also 'greed' is a fairly common feature. even the 'needy' tends to be greedy too if you really look at it. Something i've always found troubling is this tendancy to think of 'globalization' as a moral, when really its a reality.. its simply the diminution of barriers to exchange of trade, and exchange across political borders..
